This asset pack contains 37 unique high quality models of ‘Cornus alba’ shrubs: 6 seedlings, 12 formed shrubs, 6 forest shrubs, 13 field shrubs.

4 leaf textures and 2 stem textures you can use for each mesh model. As a result, you will get 4 different variables: Cornus alba, Cornus alba ‘Argenteomarginata’, Cornus alba ‘Kesselringii’, Cornus alba ‘Aurea’.

A dynamic shader is included to provide procedural controls over wind animation, winter condition with snow and many other functionalities.

Keep in mind, the plant models have high poly meshes and 4K textures. First of all, this asset intended for cinematic renders.

Animation:

To enable wind animation, add to the scene WindDirectionalSource from: All/Engine/Engine C++ Classes/Engine/Classes/Engine (find it with a search, don’t forget check the “Show Engine Content” in Content Browser Settings). Check the “Wind” in all material instances of your plant mesh. Wait for a few seconds. Control the wind in the WindDirectionalSource details.

Warning:

Nanite doesn’t work with this wind animation. To use animation, be sure the Nanite is unchecked in your plant mesh settings.

Winter:

To enable winter condition, check the “Winter enable” in Leaves, Berry and Berry Stem material instances of your plant mesh. For snow check “Snow” in Stem material instances.

To improve system performance, you can do the following:

1. Enable Nanite

2. Reduce the resolution of textures. For example: Albedo 4K, Normal 2K, Opacity 2K, Roughness 1K. Or: Albedo 2K, Normal 1K, Opacity 1K, Roughness 0.5K

3. In M_Cornus_Leaves (Master Material) change Shading Model from “Two Sided Foliage” to “Default Lit”. The “Subsurface” will be disabled.
